Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 15 July 2026
Young Guns Studio is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or with motion and contrast preferences turned on. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we keep improving as we go.
Our conformance target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. The site is currently partially conformant: most of the standard is met, and the items still in progress are listed under “Known limitations” below.
What the site does today
- Keyboard access. Every interactive control is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. A “Skip to main content” link starts each page, and the mobile menu traps focus while open and closes on Esc.
- Clear structure. Pages use proper landmarks (navigation, main content, footer) and a single, logical heading order so assistive technology can navigate them.
- Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Motion you control. The site honours your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting. Anything that moves on its own — the background video, the gallery strips, and the outcomes carousel — also has a visible pause button.
- Readable by default. Colours were reworked for stronger contrast, text resizes and reflows down to small screens, and touch targets are sized for comfortable tapping.
- Labelled forms and frames. Form fields have labels, and embedded tools such as the class calendar and contact form are given descriptive frame titles.
Known limitations
We are actively working on the following, and expect to resolve them in upcoming updates:
- Colour contrast in a few places. Some text set over photographs or gradients, and a small number of interface states, are still being reviewed and may not yet meet the AA contrast ratio.
- Embedded third-party tools. Our class schedule (Lu.ma) and contact form (Lark) are provided by outside services and displayed in frames. We label these frames, but we do not control their internal accessibility.
- Independent testing in progress. A full audit — automated testing across screen sizes plus manual screen-reader review — is underway and not yet complete. This statement will be updated as that work lands.
Technical notes
The site is built with standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and is designed to work without JavaScript for its core content and navigation. It is tested with recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you use assistive technology and something does not work as expected, please tell us — real-world reports help us prioritise.
Give us feedback
If you run into an accessibility barrier on this site, or need information in a different format, contact us and we will do our best to help and to put things right.
We aim to respond within five business days.
